Gower beaches by air, land & sea

Photographer Alun Morris Jones is based here on the Gower Peninsula and regularly captures some stunning shots of the area and it's beaches by air, on land and sea.

Alun is surfer, who enjoys to photograph some of the local surfers in some of Gowers best surf spots.  When he is not surfing, Alun can be found walking, flying and paracuting over the Gower!

Attempt for the largest surf chain this weekend

On Saturday 13th September, at Swansea Bay, surfers will be taking part in what is hoped will be the largest surfers’ chain ever recorded, with the aim of setting a new world record.

The event is already has over 600 people have signed up to participate.

Surfer rides waves on his head.

This is a great story - Dulip Kokuhannadige a Sri Lankan-born builder from Bournemouth can ride a wave for 15 seconds at a time standing on his head!   Apparently, he first attempted the stunt in his home country while teaching young people to surf in the aftermath of the 2004 tsunami.
